Give Bees a Chance

The UK Government has announced a £10 million initiative to look into the decline of the world's bees, butterflies and other insets. We can all do what we can to help save the dwindling bee population.

One way to help is to provide food and selter in the garden for bees.

Bees visit flowers from March to September to collect nectar and pollen so its vital that we provide flowers throughout that period. Plant traditional cottage garden flowers such as Bluebells, Daffodill, Aquilegia, Sweet Pea, Foxglove, Lavender, Jasmine, Rhododendron, Forget-me-Not, Azelea, Freesia, Begonia, Fuschia, Marigold, Thistle, Thyme, Carnation, Chrysanthemum, Echinacea, Heather, Crocus, Petunia to encourage bees into your garden.
